January 2012
Meldrum Construction (Perth) Ltd start 2012 with a healthy order book. We are please to announce being awarded the contract fro the refurbishment and alteration works for St John's Episcopal Church, Perth working with Alan Muir Associates and Hamish Bell Associates.
In addition we have also been awarded a contract to refurbish 6 Kitchens in Perth for ARK Housing Association - this follows on from a successful larger kitchen refurbishment project carried out for ARK in Forfar in 2011.
One of our regular clients, Sandvik Perth, have contracted us to complete the installation of large structural hardwood screens and the construction of a sheltered entrance including a large industrial roller door installation.
January also sees the start of two design and build projects where we are constructing a large extension to a house in Blarigowrie and carrying out a dormer conversion and sun room extension to a property in Perth.
A busy run up to Christmas saw us competing several projects including a house extension in Muirton Bank, Perth and the installation of oak stairs and bathroom refurbishment to a property in Abernethy.
Our maintenance division has also been very busy and we are pleased to be carrying out regular works for Perth & Kinross Council, Caledonia Housing, ARK Housing and numerous local businesses all of whom we offer 24 hour emergency call out services.

Meldrum Construction (Perth) Ltd have been appointed to carry out an internal upgrade and refurbishment project to a riverside cottage near Aberfeldy part of which we are designing and manufacturing bespoke windows, doors and kitchen units.
We have also been appointed to design and build a new Sun Room, Dormer and internal alterations to a house in Feus Road, Perth.
We are also pleased to confirm that we are carrying out a design and build project for a house extension in Blairgowrie.

We are pleased to confirm amongst other projects, the following projects were successfully completed over the summer:-
Bohally House, Tummell Bridge designed by CFY Design.

Keillour Cottage, Kettins:this project designed by Robin Baker Architects involved a high specification insulation design utilising sheep’s wool insulation, Diffutherm external wall insulation with a Bayosan Baumit external render.

Our own development project at Tumallt, East Haugh, Pitlochry is now complete and is currently being marketed.

Meldrum Construction (Perth) Ltd are pleased to announce that we have been commissioned to carry out a large House renovation and extension at Ferryman’s House, Pitlochry on the banks of the River Tay as designed by CFY Design, Old Faskally.
We are now carrying out maintenance and repair work for Strathearn and Kinross Care & Repair which extends further the operations of our growing maintenance division.
We have also been successful in securing the main contract works for a Sun Room extension and house alteration at Muirton Bank, Perth designed by Robin Baker Architet’s, Birnam and a large structural/internal alteration to a house at Kinnoull Terrace, Perth designed by Ian Muir Associates, Perth.

Meldrum Construction (Perth) Ltd are pleased to announce the successful completion on time of a kitchen replacement programme for Ark Housing Association in Forfar and the successful completion within the contract period of an office alterations contract for Perth College.
We are delighted to announce that we are now an approved contractor with Perthshire Housing Association as an approved contractor carrying out extensive maintenance works to our usual high standard and rapid response for which we have become known.
Under our maintenance section Meldrum Construction (Perth) Ltd have employed an additional 2 joiners to assist complete the large volume of reinstatement works for Perth & Kinross Council due to the damage caused to housing stock during the recent severe weather. An increase in demand for our bespoke windows, doors and stairs which we manufacture in our Inveralmond workshops has seen us employ an additional bench joiner within the last week and we now look forward to growing further, this side of our business.
Through Robin Baker Architects, Birnam we are pleased to announce that we have been accepted for the contract to carry out extensive alteration works and installation of large screens and frameless glass balustrading to be carried out by our sister company McLeod Glaziers at a house in Kenmore, Perthshire.

Meldrum Construction (Perth) Ltd are currently carrying out extensive refurbishment and development work at Bohally House, Perthshire for CFY Design at Old Faskally with a projected completion in early Spring 2011.
TUMULLT PROJECT

Meldrum Construction (Perth) Ltd have now constructed the roof over our own development at East Haugh, Pitlochry where we plan to complete the luxury 5 bedroom house in February next year. The house has been built into the hillside with spectacular views over the Tummell valley and incorporates design features to take best advantage of the location including an open first floor verandah, log fires, decking area over the adjacent burn and high quality finishes.

Meldrum Construction (Perth) Ltd are pleased to announce this month that the luxury 4 bedroom house they are currently building at Tumallt, Pitlochry is going on apace. The new build construction ‘Tumallt House’ is being built into the hillside beside the Tumallt Burn and offers excellent views over the Tummel Valley set in a quite mature wood.
The building in timber frame construction with external stonework and decorative smooth render with a traditional slate roof offers several individually designed features to embrace the location including large upper floor lounge with open balcony, large Farmhouse style Kitchen and Dining Room opening on to a covered terrace and a deck area overlooking the hill burn.2 No. solid fuel stoves, oil central heating and high quality finishes. The property is currently being marketed with a completion date early next year.
MILLDEN MILL

Meldrum Construction (Perth) Ltd are pleased to announce the successful completion of the derelict mill conversion at Millden Estate, Angus. The mill has been converted from a derelict structure to high quality beater’s accommodation with traditional building methods approved by Historic Scotland and designed by Harry Taylor & Co. from Perth. Works included traditional sash and case windows, joinery built roof with slate finish, traditional lime pointing works and the refurbishment of the waterwheel along with extensive internal re modeling to provide a high standard facility with shower rooms, utility features and large kitchen and dining provision. We also constructed an owl box in the roofspace with a lead lined access through the gable to keep the local wildlife happy too.

We are also pleased to report that our large refurbishment project at Millden Mill, Glenesk is nearing completion, again on time. The Mill is being converted from a desolate shell to high standard accommodation complete with new roof and rear extension, all in traditional style with traditional stone work, lime pointing and timber sash and case windows complimenting a total internal re build.
COUNTRY LIFE MUSEUM

Meldrum Cunstruction (Perth) Ltd are pleased to have successfully completed the construction of the new entrance and internal refurbishment at Blair Atholl Country Life Museum to our usual high standards and delivered on time for the Museum's official opening party.
The works included dressed natural stonework and required the lifting of a 100 year old cast horse onto a newly formed stone pedestal which really sets the entrance off. The internal work required two large structural openings formed in the old stone walls and the complete refurbishment of the entrance foyer and laying of natural slate flooring.
